On 22 January 2026, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in Belgrade hosted the 4th ICC Belgrade Infrastructure and Dispute Resolution Conference, organised by ICC Dispute Resolution Services and ICC Serbia, and supported by Karanović & Partners, Pinsent Masons, and the Society for Construction Law Serbia. It gathered legal professionals, industry representatives, financial institutions, contractors and arbitration practitioners to discuss issues shaping infrastructure development and dispute resolution. The conference focused on energy projects, and efficiency was the common thread running through this year’s ICC Belgrade Infrastructure and Dispute Resolution Conference.
The conference opened with welcome remarks by Mihailo Vesović, Deputy President for International Cooperation of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, and our Senior Partner, Milan Lazić.
Panel I explored infrastructure and the energy transition, bringing together perspectives from development, financing and international legal practice, with contributions from Neda Lazendić from WV International/Hyundai Engineering, Jovana Rubežić from CWP Europe, Svetlana Cerović from UniCredit Bank Serbia, and Filip Boras from Baker McKenzie. It was moderated by our Senior Associate Katarina Tomić Isailović.
This was followed by Milan Perić, Chair of the Society of Construction Law Serbia, who presented the Society’s work and future goals, highlighting how the development of construction law and professional standards plays a crucial role in building efficient, predictable systems for infrastructure projects.
Panel II focused on construction contracts and variations, where efficiency is truly tested in practice, with Denis Rizaov from Mercury, Adrian Healy from Elixa Experts, Katarina Obradović Baklaja from BIT Law Office, and Miloš Maneski from Strabag. Charles Blamire Brown from Pinsent Masons moderated this discussion.
The conference concluded with a panel on Efficient Case Management featuring Urs Weber-Stecher, an independent arbitrator, Jovan Nikčević from Nikčević Kapor, William Hooker from Alston & Bird, and Sanja Manasijevski from Hemofarm. It was moderated by Živa Filipič from the ICC International Court of Arbitration, who also provided the closing remarks, followed by an opportunity for further discussion and networking.
A strong reminder that efficiency — in project delivery, contracts and dispute resolution — is what ultimately builds trust and drives investment in infrastructure and energy.
Karanović & Partners is proud to have supported this regional forum and looks forward to engagement in future editions of the event.
