On 19 December 2025, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania adopted the decision “On the Determination of the National Minimum Wage”, which repeals Decision No. 113, dated 01.03.2023 (the “Decision”).
The Decision increases the national minimum wage from ALL 40,000 (approx., EUR 420) to ALL 50,000 (approx., EUR 525), calculated on the basis of 174 working hours per month, performed during normal working hours. Consequently, the minimum gross hourly wage has increased from ALL 229.9 (approx., EUR 2.4) to ALL 287.3 (approx., EUR 3.0).
The decision shall enter into force upon its publication in the Official Gazette and shall apply as of January 1st, 2026.
Note: Pursuant to Law No. 7703, dated 11.05.1993, “On Social Insurance in the Republic of Albania”, for social insurance purposes, any increase in the minimum wage results in a corresponding increase, to the same extent, in the maximum salary base.
