On 3 December, our Associate Aleksandra Čvorović participated in the panel “In Anticipation of the Artificial Intelligence Law”, held at ICT Hub in Belgrade. The event was jointly organised by Serbian AI Society (SAIS), ICT Hub and EtikAI, organisations dedicated to promoting responsible AI development, research, and collaboration in Serbia.
The discussion focused on the legislative approach chosen for Serbia’s upcoming AI law: what the draft should include, how it is being shaped, and what it would mean for companies, regulators and all stakeholders in the AI ecosystem. Panellists also included Slobodan Marković, Digital Advisor at UNDP, and Nevena Sofranić, founder of Omnes Group.
Ahead of the event, the organisers conducted a questionnaire among local AI-focused organisations to assess their awareness and preparedness for the upcoming regulation. The results showed a strong interest in clearer guidance and a need for more structured support in aligning with future legal and ethical obligations.
By joining this discussion, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting the development of a transparent, ethical, and forward-looking AI regulatory environment in Serbia. Thank you to the organisers for inviting us to be part of this important initiative.
