Karanovic & Partners held an interactive lecture at the Legal & IP module

Senior Associates Nikola Kliska and Igor Radovanović gave a lecture on Wednesday, May 13th. The “Legal & IP” lecture is a part of the Master 4.0 program, module “Advanced Technologies in the Digital Transformation”, organised by the Faculty of Organisational Sciences and School of Electrical Engineering.

This presentation is a part of the “Team Start-up Project” and the purpose of this lecture was for students to understand the basic concepts of intellectual property and patent protection. During the two-hour presentation, Nikola and Igor explained the importance of protection of one’s intellectual work and its assignment to the start-up along with the topic of ethics in the global and digital business surrounding.

Also, Igor and Nikola explained data protection, with the emphasis on the importance of privacy and cookie policies. They presented the relationship between the founders and their start-ups, as well as the best practices and key mistakes when starting a business from their professional experience. Through practical examples involving copyright, trademarks, patents, industrial design and business secret, students were able to understand the regulatory framework for start-ups and protecting IP rights.
