Karanovic & Partners Holds a Webinar on Interacting with Healthcare Professionals

Karanovic & Partners held a webinar dedicated to the interaction of pharma companies with healthcare professionals on 9 June 2020. Speakers Milica Filipović, Kevin Rihtar, and Boris Dvoršćak covered all aspects of engaging in ethical relationships with healthcare professionals in Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia. The webinar was moderated by Goran Radošević, Partner* in Corporate & Commercial Practice Group.

The speakers covered all the new information regarding the current legal framework that plays a great role in marketing new medicines, engaging healthcare professionals for the provision of different services, sponsoring their attendance on scientific gatherings, promoting medicines and many more, including special rules on interaction with public officials as well as the ones contained in the relevant EFPIA codes.

”Interaction with healthcare professionals requires a careful assessment of the entire network of complex legal restrictions, aimed at ensuring only legitimate objectives are fulfilled in an ethical and transparent manner. To do so, pharma companies need to invest efforts in their internal compliance procedures and seek legal advice where required, in order to mitigate the risks inherent to heavily regulated industries such as pharmaceutical and avoid even the appearance of any corruptive behavior”, said Goran Radošević.

The second half of the webinar was reserved for the Q&A part, where our speakers answered dozens of questions from the viewers on a wide range of topics, including anticorruption laws across the region, authority of local agencies, specific local regulatory restrictions, etc.
