First Conference Organised by the Renewable Energy Sources Association of Serbia

Karanović & Partners to Moderate a Panel on RES Conference

Karanović & Partners will take part in the first conference organised by the Renewable Energy Sources Association of Serbia on September 15 in Belgrade.

Our Partner, Petar Mitrović, who leads the regional industrial group Energy and Natural Resources, will moderate a banking financial panel. Alongside representatives of EBRD, IFC, Erste Bank, and UniCredit, he will discuss the critical issues for financing renewable energy projects.

“I would like to thank the organisers for the opportunity to moderate the panel with representatives of financial institutions that have been at the forefront when it comes to the financing of renewables projects in Serbia and the region. Previous experience shows us that having a bankable framework was critical to achieving operational projects under the initial incentive scheme. With the new regulations just around the corner, it will be interesting to hear what the key financiers expect to see in the future”, said Petar.

Besides advising clients on significant issues related to the development, management, and financing of new energy projects (with a specific focus on renewable energy sources), Petar is also a member of the working group of the Ministry of Mining and Energy for the adoption of the law on the use of renewable energy sources, in front of AmCham Serbia.

OIE conference is organised with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, with the institutional support of the Ministry of Mining and Energy. It will happen as a series of panel discussions dedicated to the most important topics such as energy transition in Serbia and the region and will gather top officials of WindEurope, the Energy Community, officials of provincial institutions and public companies, representatives of the largest investors in Serbia and the region, consultants, bankers, and lawyers.
