In October 2023, the Alibunar I wind farm was connected to the grid and started operations by delivering the first quantities of produced energy to the grid. Alibunar I wind farm consists of three 3 MW wind turbine generators located near Vršac.

The wind farm was constructed by Rudis, the leading engineering company in Slovenia. In 2022, Rudis acquired a share in the project development company Balkan Electric d.o.o., wrapped up the development activities and finished construction in 2023.

Energy produced in the wind farm will be purchased by PLC Interenergo on the basis of the long-term PPA and PLC Interenergo included Balkan Electric in its balancing group.

Karanović & Partners team was involved in the legal aspects of the development of the wind farm. The team led by our Partner Petar Mitrović and Senior Associate Katarina Tomić, assisted Rudis with due diligence process, transaction support and ongoing project-related matters after the acquisition. In addition, with the consent of Rudis and PLC Interenerfo, another team within Karanović & Partners advised PLC Interenergo with the PPA for the Alibunar I wind farm.
