ArbCEE and ICC Serbia Conference

Karanovic & Partners at Paris Arbitration Week

On 25 March 2026, our Senior Partner Milan Lazić participated as a panelist at a conference organised by Arbitration Association of Central and Eastern Europe (ArbCEE) and ICC Serbia during the tenth edition of Paris Arbitration Week.

The event, named “Expediting an Arbitration: What It Means and How It Works in Practice”, brought together more than 80 participants to discuss expedited proceedings under the ICC Arbitration Rules, a topic of increasing importance as the number of expedited procedure provisions (EPP) cases continues to grow.

Milan Lazić joined a panel of arbitration practitioners, including moderator Jelena Todić, Associate at Wordstone Dispute Resolution, and speakers Yasmine Lahlou, Partner at Chaffetz Lindsey LLP, Denis Parchajev, Partner at Motieka & Audzevicius, Margarita Chatzi, Deputy Counsel at ICC Court of Arbitration, and Eveli Lume, Partner at Squire Patton Boggs. They explored both the advantages and potential risks of expedited proceedings, while sharing practical insights on how to use them effectively to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.

This event was held at the fantastic setting of the Cultural Centre of Serbia and marked ArbCEE’s third contribution to Paris Arbitration Week, further highlighting the strength and collaborative spirit of the Central and Eastern European arbitration community. The discussion reflected a shared commitment to forward-looking dialogue and the continued development of arbitration practices in the region.

Regional organisations supporting the event included ICC Croatia, the International Chamber of Commerce Czech Republic (ICC Czech Republic), ICC Poland, ICC Slovenia, ICC Slovakia, the Polish Arbitration Association, the Estonian Arbitration Association, the Hungarian Arbitration Association, the Arbitration Association, and the Association ARBITRI. Karanovic & Partners also supported the organisation of this event, along with Squire Patton Boggs, Motieka & Audzevicius, Wordstone Dispute Resolution, and Nikčević Kapor.

We are pleased to have contributed to this important discussion and look forward to continuing our engagement with the global arbitration community.
