During this year’s Athens Arbitration Days, ICC Dispute Resolution Services, together with ICC Hellas, ICC Serbia, ICC Turkiye, and ICC Albania, hosted a joint regional event for the first time. The event was supported by Karanović & Partners, Zepos & Yannopoulos, Calavros Law Firm – Filios – Kloukinas, and Fieldfisher. The half-day programme, “Disputes Trends & Enforcement of Arbitral Awards: An ICC Regional Perspective,” gathered practitioners from across Southeast Europe to examine how arbitration is developing throughout the region.
The event, held in Athens on 26 November, focused on two central themes: the changing landscape of disputes in SEE and the realities of enforcing arbitral awards across different jurisdictions. By bringing together perspectives from multiple ICC national committees, the conference highlighted the value of a coordinated regional outlook and encouraged discussion on shared challenges and best practices.
Our Senior Partner Milan Lazić contributed to the panel dedicated to dispute trends in the SEE region, addressing how commercial disputes are shifting and what currently shapes dispute-resolution strategies.
Our Partner Alban Caushi joined the panel on “Enforcement of Arbitral Awards in the SEE,” offering comments on recent developments and issues that influence the enforcement process in the region.
The event drew a wide group of participants, from arbitral institutions, private practice, academia, in-house legal teams, and the judiciary, creating a well-rounded discussion on the state of arbitration in Southeast Europe.
We continue to support initiatives like this that advance consistent and effective dispute-resolution standards across the region.
