Empowering Legal Talents: Recap of the Belgrade Open Pre-Moot

As the anticipation grows for the 31st Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, Belgrade recently played host to a number of activities aimed at young legal talents.

The XVI Belgrade Open Pre-Moot unfolded successfully over the weekend. Hosted traditionally by the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law, this Pre-Moot served as a platform for law students to hone their skills in arbitration.

Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, Karanovic & Partners hosted the Pre-Moot Opening Night at the iconic Bioskop Balkan, a central hub for cultural exchange. Senior Partner Milan Lazić and Partner Milica Savić delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the significance of this moment in the legal calendar. “This is the most important time of the year for arbitration in Serbia and across the region,” they remarked. “It is the time when we celebrate our passion for arbitration, contemplate the future of our businesses, and witness the beginning of many students’ professional journeys.”

Throughout the weekend, Karanovic & Partners welcomed the Mooties, providing guidance and support as they prepared for the final round of the competition, scheduled for the very end of March in Vienna. Five intense hearing rounds facilitated meaningful discussions and exchanges among future legal practitioners from diverse corners of the globe.

Continuing our commitment to nurturing young talent, we keep supporting the Belgrade Open Pre-Moot, recognizing its role in empowering the next generation of legal professionals as they prepare to start their careers.
