Karanovic & Partners at Energy in the Balkans Conference

Our Partner Petar Mitrović took part at the conference “Energy in the Balkans: Transition to renewable energy sources and improvement of energy networks”.

Petar moderated panel discussion “The price of electricity and auction system”. The other participating panellists were Neda Lazendić, director at WV-International Serbia, Dejan Popović, president of the Council of Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Gašparovski, member of the Board of Directors of the Serbian Biogas Association, Miloš Mladenović, executive director of the SEEPEX AD Belgrade, Miloš Colić, chairman of the Board of the Association Renewable Energy Sources of Serbia and director of NES, and Miloš Kostić, managing director at MT Komex.

The panel discussed challenges related to the implementation of auction system for renewables in Serbia, with focus on finding a right model to subsidies, concept of balancing responsibility and amount of the guaranteed prices. The other part of the panel was related to the expectations regarding the electric energy prices in the context of the overall crises and war in Ukraine and tried to answer how the industry can mitigate these costs.

Conference was organised by Confindustria Est Europa and Confindustria Serbia with the support of Confindustria Italy.
