Our colleague Nika Jurković, Senior Associate from Ilej & Partners in cooperation with Karanovic & Partners, spoke at the AIJA conference “Cairo 2026 | Where Innovation Meets Tradition”, held in Egypt from 15 to 17 October 2026.
Nika took part in Panel 3, “Startups and Strategic Exits in the Tech Ecosystem – Trends in different Hubs around the Globe”. The panel looked at recent exit trends in emerging markets, buyer profiles and the regulatory considerations in such transactions. The panel brought together lawyers from Egypt, Italy, Croatia, Switzerland and the USA, offering perspectives from different jurisdictions and markets.
AIJA (International Association of Young Lawyers) is an international association of young lawyers that brings together legal professionals from around the world. The conference was organised by the AIJA M&A and IP commissions and covered M&A-related topics in the digital age, including merger control and foreign investment regulation in emerging markets, as well as intellectual property in the media ecosystem.
