Calsonic Kansei Acquires Magneti Marelli for EUR 5.8 Billion

A leading Japanese automotive company, Calsonic Kansei acquired Magneti Marelli, a high-tech components manufacturer for the automotive industry, from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) for 5.8 billion euros. Karanovic & Partners advised Japan’s Calsonic in this transaction, which represents key milestone in creating a leading global independent automotive sup.

The Karanovic & Partners legal team – lead by Partner* Ivan Nonković completed a legal due diligence, as well as advised on all the local legal aspects of the transaction.

This transaction, which has received all the necessary regulatory and anti-trust approvals, combines two successful businesses, with combined revenues of EUR 14.6 billion. The combined entity is the world’s 7th largest global independent automotive supplier, based on total revenues. It will operate out of 170 facilities and R&D centres across Europe, Japan, the Americas, and Asia Pacific under the name Magneti Marelli CK Holdings.
