Karanovic & Partners attended the EBRD Annual Meeting and Business Forum in the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo. The theme of this year’s forum was Connecting Economies for Stronger Growth.
Around 3,000 leading experts, government officials, business professionals, environmental specialists, entrepreneurs and others attended the event. In over 40 sessions, with topics including global trade, blockchain, digitalization, tourism and migration, they exchanged valuable experiences with the aim of strengthening economic ties within and outside the region.
The delegations of the Western Balkan nations attended the conference and took part in the high-level panel discussion that underscored the importance of regional cooperation.
The EBRD is a leading investor in the Western Balkans, providing a record level of finance of EUR 1.1 billion in 2018, as well as supporting the countries endeavours to join of the European Union.
In the Western Balkans, the EBRD has placed a very high priority on promoting connectivity via its investments. It aims at promoting both physical infrastructure links, as well as ties between markets to strengthen trade and improve the business environment as the countries continue on their path towards EU accession.
