Employment Law Redefined: Insights from IBA Annual Conference 2023 Featuring Karanovic & Partners

As part of the IBA Annual Conference in Paris, France, our Partner Milena Jakšić Papac, head of the Employment Practice Group, contributed as a speaker on 1 November. She participated in the panel titled “The employment relationship redefined: change of the foundation of employment laws.”

The session revolved around the extensive impact of COVID-19 on reshaping the employment landscape, transitioning the conventional master-servant dynamics towards a more collaborative paradigm. The discourse centred on the implications of this transformation on employment laws.

The session was moderated by Patrick Benaroche from Stikeman Elliott, Canada, and Raquel Florez from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Spain. Alongside our Partner, the panel featured Denis Langlois from Europcar Mobility Group, France, Sheryn Omeri KC from Cloisters, England, and Francisco Peniche Beguerisse from Creel Garcia-Cuellar Aiza y Enriquez, Mexico.

The ongoing IBA Annual Conference, held in Paris from 29 October until 3 November 2023, France, stands as a significant gathering for the global legal community. Hosted by the International Bar Association, a foremost organization for international legal practitioners, bar associations, and legal societies, the event offers a platform for discussions shaping the global legal landscape.
