The Government of the Republic of North Macedonia has adopted its first priority list of public investment projects exceeding EUR 5 million, identifying transport, energy, healthcare and water infrastructure as key areas for public investment.
The list includes major projects, among others, the Skopje – Kichevo section of Corridor VIII, the high-speed railway along Corridor X, the Chebren and HPP Galishte hydropower projects, the Miravci wind park, the North Macedonia – Kosovo* gas interconnector (as part of the Greece – North Macedonia gas interconnector), and the conversion of TPP Negotino to natural gas.
The list will serve as a basis for the Government’s 2027 budget planning and the investment programmes of public authorities and state-owned joint-stock companies. Budget users and other public entities are expected to align their investment programmes with these priorities.
The proposed public investments provide a clear indication of the Government’s infrastructure agenda and the projects expected to advance through the public investment pipeline. They also signal potential opportunities for private-sector involvement in the development, financing and implementation of major infrastructure projects, particularly in the transport and energy sectors.
