Advancing Commercial Dispute Resolution through an Arbitration Training

On November 16, 2023, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Serbia organized a comprehensive training session at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia on “Arbitration as a Mechanism for Resolving Commercial Disputes”. Over 40 participants, including representatives from small, medium, and large companies, banks, lawyers, and others, attended the session.

Led by our Senior Partner Milan Lazić and Nataša Lalatović Đorđević, Partner at Moravčević, Vojnović, and Partners, in cooperation with Schoenherr, both members of the International Chamber of Commerce’s Commission for Arbitration, the training covered essential aspects of arbitration as a dispute resolution mechanism in commercial disputes.

The lecturers covered key aspects, including tailoring arbitration to align with the specific needs of companies and their commercial transactions, selecting arbitration rules and drafting arbitration clauses, exploring the features and benefits of arbitral proceedings such as efficiency, flexibility, and confidentiality, navigating the arbitration process step-by-step, and illustrating it through practical examples.

This event was also an opportunity to mark Serbia’s 100-year membership in the ICC and the centenary of the International Court of Arbitration headquartered in Paris. This initiative contributes to advancing the understanding and application of arbitration in commercial dispute resolution.
