Coca-Cola HBC acquires Serbian biscuit and confectionary maker

Transaction complete: Mid Europa Partners sells Bambi

The leading private equity investor in Central and Eastern Europe Mid Europa Partners sold Bambi, the leading Serbian biscuit and confectionary maker, to Coca-Cola HBC. The sale was completed on 18 June, and Bambi, one of the most recognisable brands in Serbia, will continue its development under Coca-Cola HBC.

The Karanovic & Partners legal team, led by Managing Partner Rastko Petaković, Partner ⃰  Miloš Jakovljević and Associate ⃰  Sava Drača, advised Mid Europa Partners in this transaction, working closely with other advisors.

Mid Europa Partners acquired Bambi in 2015, together with Imlek and Knjaz Miloš, the leading regional dairy and natural mineral water players, forming the consumer group – Moji Brendovi.

Bambi manufactures a range of products including biscuits, wafers and savoury snacks. The company’s brands include Bambi, Plazma, Wellness, Zlatni Pek, and Josh. In 2018, Bambi recorded revenue of EUR 80 million, more than two-thirds of which are generated in Serbia and the rest predominantly in the Western Balkans.
